The second WAVE EP, Jurassic Parkour, is coming soon

For an ordinary record label, releasing music is mere bread and butter. But when you’re the smallest record label in the world it comes with a lovely little frisson that takes you right back to where and why it all started.

Next week we’re taking a short break from being a pair of lazy music reviewers to put out our second release, known around these parts as DEC-4.

On Friday 9th June the second EP by noisy Birmingham/Coventry duo WAVE will be available via This Decay Records. It’s called Jurassic Parkour, it contains five songs, and it’s going to Make Duos Great Again.

WAVE formed in 2015 with two aims: play some riffs and have some fun. They’ve done both with impressive regularity this year, thanks in no small part to their run to the final of Metal 2 The Masses Coventry.

Some of the new material got an outing or two during those glorious nights of spring. Next Friday you’ll be able to hear the rest of it.

The stand-up folks at Moshville Times have already heard it and confirmed that the new WAVE is a WAVE with bite:

“With this new EP, Jurassic Parkour, it very quickly becomes apparent that Dave Musson (guitar/vocals) and Will Stokes (drums) have really upped their game. This EP feels far denser; a fuller swell of noise.”

Jurassic Parkour will be unleashed into the physical realm at a very special launch show as part of Dave’s World Live at the Arches Venue in Coventry on Sunday 11th June. WAVE will be part of a bill that also features Barbikan, deny all ROBOTS, Blank Parody, Wax Futures, KiriKai and headline act Black Star Bullet.

You can pick up your copy from Dave and Will on the night and at future WAVE shows, or buy online through Bandcamp, where Jurassic Parkour and The First Wave will be available as a bundle for the first week.
