DAVE MUSSON

Whether it’s playing it, talking about it, writing it, photographing those who make it, or just listening to lots of it, Dave and heavy music go back a long way. In fact, thanks to a brilliant upbringing full of classic rock and music generally played at the appropriate volume, you could easily say he’s been in it for life.

Dave has played guitar for more than 20 years and was part of numerous bands before truly finding his place as half of the loud, riffy duo WAVE – a project that blends influences like Every Time I Die, The Chariot and Nirvana with some powerhouse death metal drumming to create a barrage of riffs, energy and fun.

Dave has also got plenty of experience in the media side of things. He was a writer and photographer for Powerplay Magazine from 2005-2009 and has been part of the Birmingham Live team since its inception in 2008. He’s interviewed some of his biggest musical heroes and has been lucky enough to take photos of lots of them too.

On top of that, Dave loves nothing more than to champion the West Midlands heavy music scene and started the podcast Dave’s World in January 2016 to do exactly that. Every week he shines the light on the best bands of the local scene, with interviews, reviews and plenty of music.
